A – Have you heard of laughing gas? Nitrous sedation is commonly referred to as laughing gas and works throughout your appointment making you feel completely relaxed and at ease. You will not be bothered by any sounds or smells but are able to respond to your dentist if necessary. This type of sedation is administered through a mask and begins to work right away. Once your appointment is over and the mask is removed, you will be able to resume your normal activities without any interruptions!
A – Oral sedation is administered in pill form. This type of sedation begins to take effect in just minutes! Oral sedation is a little stronger than nitrous and will also take longer for the effects to wear away. A driver will need to accompany you for your visit when oral sedation is used.
A – IV sedation is given through an IV and the strength of the sedation can be adjusted as needed throughout your appointment. As with most sedation methods, you will remember little to nothing about your visit and may sleep throughout some of your appointment.
A – A free sedation consultation can answer any questions you may have concerning sedation. Depending on your dental needs, your dentist will let you know which form he recommends for your upcoming visits.
